How to use what you save in KLYPIX with ChatGPT and Claude

Save reels, links, voice notes and files to a KLYPIX space from your phone, then ask ChatGPT or Claude to work from them and save the result next to its sources.

The short answer: turn on AI access for a space in the KLYPIX iPhone app, then add KLYPIX to your assistant with the connection address https://klypix.com/api/mcp and sign in with your KLYPIX account. In Claude, add it under Customize → Connectors. In ChatGPT, connect it from the app directory when KLYPIX is listed there, or add it in developer mode until then. The assistant can then read the space’s notes and readings, tell you which items it could not read, and save a plan, script, report or file back to the space.

What does connecting KLYPIX to ChatGPT or Claude do?

It lets the assistant you already use work from what you saved, without copying links into the chat one by one. KLYPIX is a portable project workspace with a shared brain. On your iPhone, each project or idea is a space: a place to keep the reels, videos, links, notes, photos, voice notes and files that belong together.

Once a space has AI access and the assistant is connected, you can ask things like “which hooks keep working in my ad ideas?” or “turn the voice notes from my trip space into a plan”. The assistant reads the space through KLYPIX, answers, and says which items it could not read. When you ask, it saves its result into the space’s Saved work, where you, and later another assistant, can find it again.

KLYPIX does not run the assistant. ChatGPT and Claude stay where they are, under their own accounts and terms. KLYPIX gives them a signed-in, permissioned way into the spaces you chose.

What do you need first?

  • A KLYPIX account, the one you use in the KLYPIX iPhone app or in Klypix Drive.
  • At least one space with AI access turned on. See the next section.
  • ChatGPT or Claude. Claude’s free plan allows one custom connector. In ChatGPT, adding a connection by hand needs developer mode, which your plan or workspace may not offer. Work and school accounts can also have custom connections turned off by an administrator.

This guide covers Claude on the web and in the Claude apps, and ChatGPT. Coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor have their own KLYPIX path: see shared project memory for Claude Code, Codex and Cursor.

How do you make a space available to your assistant?

Turn on AI access for that space. A connected assistant cannot read your spaces’ encrypted files. AI access is the owner’s separate choice to keep a private, readable copy of one space on KLYPIX’s servers for connected assistants.

  1. In the KLYPIX iPhone app, open the space’s menu and choose AI access. You can also open AI access & saved work beside the space in Klypix Drive.
  2. Read what the copy holds, confirm, and turn it on.
  3. Check that the space’s items show as synced before you ask about them.

Only the space’s owner can turn AI access on. A space without it is invisible to every connection, even one that was allowed “all my AI spaces”.

Read new items automatically. Once AI access is on, you can also turn on this switch for the space. KLYPIX then reads reels, voice notes and files when you save them, so the reading is ready before you ask. It uses your KLYPIX AI allowance, with at most 60 automatic readings a day for your account. A reading that fails is not retried automatically. Turning AI access off also turns this off, and turning AI access back on does not turn it back on.

Without the switch, an item that needs AI to read stays unread until an assistant asks for it, and only if you allowed that assistant to use your allowance (see what you choose when you connect). Otherwise the assistant tells you the item has not been read.

How do you connect Claude?

  1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it KLYPIX and paste the connection address https://klypix.com/api/mcp.
  3. Leave the client ID and client secret empty. Claude identifies itself to KLYPIX with its published identity.
  4. Choose Connect. Claude opens KLYPIX’s sign-in page. Sign in with your KLYPIX account, make your choices and approve.
  5. In a chat, open + → Connectors and turn KLYPIX on for that chat.

Once KLYPIX is on in a chat, Claude uses it when a question depends on what you saved, even if you do not name KLYPIX. Naming the space still helps when you have several.

How do you connect ChatGPT?

If KLYPIX appears in ChatGPT’s app directory, find it there, connect, and sign in with your KLYPIX account.

Until then, add it by hand:

  1. In ChatGPT’s settings, turn on developer mode. Your plan or workspace decides whether it is available.
  2. Add a custom MCP server under Plugins, with the connection address https://klypix.com/api/mcp and OAuth sign-in. Leave the client ID and secret empty; ChatGPT identifies itself automatically.
  3. Sign in on KLYPIX’s page with your KLYPIX account, make your choices and approve.

To use it reliably, start a message with “KLYPIX, …” or pick KLYPIX with @.

How do you ask about what you saved?

Ask the way you would ask a colleague who has the folder open. Say which space if you have more than one; if you do not, the assistant picks the space that fits your question and tells you which one it used.

  • “KLYPIX, from my Ad ideas space: which hooks keep working? Write 3 scripts in that style and save them to the space.”
  • “Use my Trip space to plan four days in Amman. Mark which places came from videos you could not read.”
  • “Find the report Claude saved in my Launch space last week and continue it.”

It works in Arabic too:

«KLYPIX، من مساحة أفكار الإعلانات: ما الافتتاحيات التي ما زالت تنجح؟ اكتب 3 نصوص فيديو بالأسلوب نفسه واحفظها في المساحة.»

Every answer should say which items the assistant could not read. A thumbnail or a caption is never presented as a watched video. If a reading is partial, the answer says so.

What can KLYPIX read, and what can it not?

Coverage depends on what each platform makes publicly available. KLYPIX reads through public, documented channels only. It does not use your social media accounts or log in as you.

What KLYPIX reads from each kind of saved item
What you savedWhat KLYPIX reads
Notes and textAll of it.
YouTube links, including ShortsThe video, read by Google Gemini.
Facebook reels and videosThe video, when Facebook makes it publicly available. Otherwise the answer says the original file is needed.
Photos, voice notes, videos you recorded, PDFsRead, up to 25 MB per file.
Word, Excel and PowerPoint filesTheir text, extracted on KLYPIX’s server without an AI model.
Ordinary web articlesThe page’s text.
X postsThe post’s text only, not its video. For a video, save a screen recording or the original file.
TikTok videosThe caption only, not the video. TikTok may also limit requests, and KLYPIX does not retry past a limit. To read the video, use Share → Save video in TikTok and share the saved video to KLYPIX.
Instagram reelsNot the video. See the next section.

Readings that need AI, such as videos, voice notes, photos and PDFs, use the owner’s KLYPIX AI allowance. Captions, post text, web pages and Office text do not call an AI model.

Why can KLYPIX not read an Instagram reel from its link?

Instagram keeps reel videos behind its login, and KLYPIX does not sign in as you or work around that. From the link alone, KLYPIX cannot read the video, and the answer says so.

To include a reel, save the video itself: in Instagram, tap Share → Download (offered only when the creator allows it), then share the saved video from your Photos to KLYPIX. KLYPIX reads it like any video you recorded.

How does the assistant save work back to the space?

Ask it to. For example: “save these scripts to the space”. The assistant saves its text result, such as a plan, a script or a report, to the space’s Saved work, linked to the sources it used.

If the assistant created an actual file, such as a PDF or a spreadsheet, it can save the file itself, up to 25 MB. Whether it can create files depends on the assistant and your plan with it.

Saving only adds. It never changes or deletes what you saved. Another connected assistant can read that saved work later, so a draft started in ChatGPT can be continued in Claude. Nothing is saved unless you ask, and the connection does not copy your whole conversation.

Where does your data go?

  • On KLYPIX’s servers. A space with AI access has a readable copy stored privately on KLYPIX’s servers. It is not encrypted with the space’s key, so KLYPIX’s service can read it. Saved work and saved files are stored the same way.
  • Google Gemini. When KLYPIX reads a video, voice note, photo or PDF, the item is sent to Google Gemini to produce the reading. For a YouTube link, Gemini receives the link.
  • Your assistant. What ChatGPT or Claude reads from a space becomes available to OpenAI or Anthropic under their terms.
  • Not shared. The connection never receives your KLYPIX password or your space’s encryption key.

The details, including how long copies are kept, are in the privacy policy. Do not turn on AI access for a space that holds material you would not want stored this way.

How do you stop access?

  • Revoke one assistant at klypix.com/connect/authorize. It disconnects that assistant. Your copies and saved work stay.
  • Turn off AI access for a space in the iPhone app or Klypix Drive. Every connection loses that space, automatic reading stops, and the space’s readable copies and private source files are removed. Your original items and saved work stay.
  • Remove the connector in Claude or ChatGPT, too, if you no longer want it in their settings.

None of these can recall what an assistant already read.

What are the limits?

  • Only spaces with AI access. Spaces without it, and your Windows PC’s local files, are outside this connection.
  • Some videos need the original file. Instagram reels, TikTok videos and X videos cannot be read from their links. Facebook videos only when Facebook makes them public.
  • Files over 25 MB are not read.
  • Automatic reading is capped at 60 readings a day per account, uses your KLYPIX AI allowance, and does not retry failures on its own.
  • Readings can be wrong or partial. They are produced by AI; check important details against the original.
  • Access expires after 30 days and needs a new sign-in.
  • Coding tools use a different path. For Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, use the klypix-mcp engine.
  • Your assistant’s own limits apply, including plan limits on connectors and file creation.

How do you try it on one space?

Pick a space with a mix of items: a note, a YouTube link, a voice note and a PDF. Turn on its AI access, connect Claude or ChatGPT, and ask: “KLYPIX, summarise this space and tell me which items you could not read.” Then ask it to save the summary, and open Saved work to see it beside its sources.
