Terms
The terms between you and KLYPIX for the online service. Last updated 13 August 2026. By using the service you accept them; the desktop installer presents a separate software licence agreement.
The short version. Your primary workspace files stay on your own disk. Optional online features add accounts, sync, sharing, collaboration and provided AI, and some features need an internet connection. Markdown and JSON Canvas exports are available but are not lossless. Your work belongs to you. We provide the software as it is, and our liability is limited. Nothing here takes away rights your local law gives you.
1. Who you are agreeing with
Your provider and contracting party is Abdullah Aldahshan, trading as KLYPIX (“KLYPIX”, “we”, “us”). “The software” means the KLYPIX desktop application. “The service” means the optional online parts: accounts, cloud sync, share links, collaboration, the web viewer, and any AI we provide from our own keys. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 13.
Service/postal address: ALSALAM, Riyadh, 1666, Saudi Arabia.
2. The software licence and open component
The desktop installer presents a separate software licence agreement. It is not represented as word-for-word identical to these service terms. Under that agreement, the desktop software is licensed, not sold, for use on machines you control for personal or commercial work.
Please do not: resell or rent the software itself; remove its notices; or try to defeat the limits of a plan you are not on. You may reverse-engineer only as far as your local law permits regardless of this agreement.
The brain engine is separate and open. The klypix-mcp package is published under the Apache 2.0 licence and is governed by that licence, not by these terms. Nothing here restricts what Apache 2.0 grants you. The .klypix file format is documented and free for anyone to read or implement.
3. Your content stays yours
Everything you create in KLYPIX belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it. You give us only the technical permission needed to process, store and transmit content when you choose online features such as sync, sharing, collaboration or provided AI.
When you share or sync a canvas, the saved canvas file is encrypted on your device before upload and stored as ciphertext. This does not make every cloud data path unreadable to KLYPIX: canvas titles and live collaboration edit deltas are stored in readable form. For a link-only share, the saved-file key is placed after the # in the link and is not sent to the server by the browser. When you invite a collaborator by email, KLYPIX stores the canvas key so it can be provided to the authorised recipient.
You are responsible for having the right to the content you put in, and for not using KLYPIX to break the law or to store material you have no right to hold.
4. AI, and whose key pays for it
KLYPIX can use AI in three ways, and the terms differ:
Your own key. When you configure your own API key, your chat, file, canvas and agent requests go directly to that provider under your agreement with them. Screen understanding is the exception: screen images use the KLYPIX relay and count toward the included allowance. Your provider's terms and prices govern direct requests.
Ask your files on your machine. After the required model has been downloaded, document indexing, retrieval and answers in that feature run on your own hardware. The initial model and optional acceleration downloads require an internet connection. This local statement does not cover cloud chat, screen understanding, cloud OCR or document generation.
AI we provide. On a paid plan we may run requests through our own provider account, subject to fair use and any allowance stated on the plan. Automated agent runs consume substantially more than ordinary questions and are counted accordingly. We may throttle or pause provided AI to protect the service from abuse or runaway cost. AI output can be wrong — check anything that matters before relying on it.
5. Beta
KLYPIX is in beta. Features may change, move or be withdrawn, and things may break. During beta the paid features are free. We will give at least 30 days' notice before that changes, will not retroactively bill you for the beta period, and will not start a paid subscription without your explicit choice.
6. Paid plans (applies once paid plans begin)
Prices are shown on the site. Paid plans renew for the period you chose until you cancel; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep the plan until the period ends. Taxes may be added where required. If we raise a price we will tell you before it applies to you.
You may ask for a refund within 14 days of a charge if you have not meaningfully used the paid features in that period; beyond that we will still look at genuine problems in good faith. If a payment fails or a plan lapses, the Free plan and your local files keep working. We do not delete cloud files because of a downgrade. If cloud storage is above the Free allowance, access and downloads remain available while new uploads may pause, with a 90-day grace period to upgrade or reduce storage.
7. Fair use
Do not attack, overload or probe the service; do not resell it; do not share one account between many people; do not automate our provided AI beyond ordinary use of the app; and do not use KLYPIX to harm others. We may suspend an account that does these things, and where it is reasonable we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix it first.
8. Availability, and leaving
We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted. Local workspace viewing and editing can work without an account or internet connection. Account access, cloud sync, sharing, collaboration, updates, cloud AI, screen understanding, document generation and required model downloads need a network connection.
You can leave at any time. Keep your .klypix files or export a saved canvas to Markdown or JSON Canvas. These exports are not lossless: some KLYPIX item types and asset relationships have no exact equivalent. If we ever discontinue the service we will give notice and a window to retrieve anything stored with us.
9. Warranty and liability
The software and service are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50.
Keep your own backups. We cannot restore local files that were never stored by the optional cloud service.
10. Changes
If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and we will make the change visible in the app or the site. Continuing to use KLYPIX after that means you accept the new version.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and disputes belong to its courts. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not remove the protections your own country’s law gives you.
